Thanks to the generous support of Denver voters, and their backing of both the 2008 and 2012 Denver Public Schools Bonds, Slavens K-8 School in Southeast Denver is finally feeling like a true K-8 school.
To accommodate a growing population in the Slavens community and an expansion from K-5 to K-8 in the late 90s, DPS addressed several needs at the school with funds from the 2012 Bond, building a new K-8 gymnasium, art room, and compter lab. In addition, DPS is also renovating the Science Labs.
Between the 2008 and 2012 Bonds, the additions provide enough space at the campus for 175 new students at Slavens — a large enough campus, according to DPS Facility Planning, to support the growing Slavens community for years to come.
